Job Description
Location: Remote (Nigeria)
Employment type: To be agreed
Posted on behalf of our client
About the Role
The company is a UK-focused shipping business that helps individuals and small businesses access UK and international shipping services. Customers can be onboarded onto an online portal to compare services and book their own shipments, or request a quotation and have the company arrange and book shipments for them.
They are looking for a commercially minded digital marketer who can increase online visibility and convert it into qualified quote requests, first bookings and repeat shipping business.
Purpose of the role: Build and manage a measurable digital marketing programme that attracts relevant shipping customers through the website, Google, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Website / search / social media → qualified enquiry → quotation → portal onboarding or managed booking → first paid shipment → repeat business
This is not a social-media-posting-only role. Success is judged mainly on qualified enquiries and the profitable business they generate, not on follower numbers, impressions or website visits alone.
Working Arrangement
• Fully remote, based in Nigeria
• Reliable internet, suitable equipment and agreed availability during UK business hours for collaboration and lead handovers
Key Responsibilities
1. Website optimisation and enquiry generation
• Review the website and improve how easily visitors can understand the services and request a quote
• Create or improve service pages, landing pages, calls to action and enquiry forms
• Build clear pathways for customers who want self-service portal access or a managed shipping service
• Improve the mobile enquiry experience and fix technical issues affecting conversions
• Make routine website changes where competent, and brief and coordinate a developer for specialist work
• Make sure quote forms capture contact details, collection and delivery locations, shipment type, weight, dimensions, shipping frequency and required date, as appropriate
2. Search engine optimisation
• Audit technical, on-page and content SEO
• Research commercially relevant shipping keywords and customer search intent
• Optimise page titles, descriptions, headings, internal links and service-page content
• Develop useful content around the services and customer segments the business can serve
• Monitor indexing, search performance and organic enquiries
• Manage relevant business listings and local-search activity where applicable
• Build legitimate industry relationships and links, with no spam tactics or purchased links
• Prioritise relevant traffic that generates enquiries over rankings for unrelated or low-value keywords
3. Content creation and social media
• Own the content plan and day-to-day delivery on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
• Write persuasive posts, service explanations, short articles and website copy
• Create branded graphics, short videos and reels
• Turn genuine customer questions into useful shipping content
• Produce approved case studies, testimonials and shipment examples
• Use clear calls to action that encourage quote requests or portal enquiries
• Respond to comments, messages and enquiries during agreed working hours
• Adapt content to each platform and take part in relevant business communities without spamming
• Communicate the company’s value clearly: access to shipping options, straightforward booking and hands-on support
4. Paid advertising and campaign management
• Subject to an approved budget, plan, launch and optimise Google, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn campaigns
• Recommend channel priorities based on customer intent, likely economics and budget (spending on every platform from day one is not required)
• Build campaign-specific landing pages and ad creative
• Test audiences, messages, offers and calls to action
• Monitor cost per qualified enquiry and cost per new shipping customer
• Stop or adjust campaigns that bring poor-quality enquiries or uneconomic costs
• Get approval before launching campaigns, increasing spend or making promotional commitments
5. Lead capture, qualification and follow-up
• Capture website, advertising and social-media enquiries in a CRM or agreed lead tracker
• Record the source, requirements, status, owner and next action for each enquiry
• Qualify prospects against the company’s services and commercial priorities
• Follow up incomplete quote requests and unanswered enquiries using approved messages
• Hand leads over promptly to the owner or the sales/account-management team
• Support enquiry nurturing, quote follow-up and first-booking reminders
• Work with sales to understand why leads convert, stall or are lost
• Do not promise rates, delivery times, credit terms or service availability without authorisation
6. Portal activation and repeat business
• Work with the owner and account-management team to encourage suitable prospects to request portal access
• Support onboarding communications and first-booking guidance
• Follow up customers who register but do not ship
• Develop campaigns that encourage second shipments and regular usage
• Re-engage dormant customers using approved, compliant communications
• Treat active customers and profitable repeat shipping, not portal registrations alone, as the goal
7. Tracking, reporting and commercial accountability
• Set up or improve website analytics, conversion tracking and campaign tagging
• Use tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, advertising dashboards and the CRM
• Track enquiries through to quotations, first shipments and repeat bookings wherever data allows
• Report weekly on activity, results, spend, lessons and next actions
• Work with the owner to connect booked shipments to revenue and gross profit
• Separate marketing-sourced leads from existing accounts and avoid double-counting conversions
• Explain attribution gaps rather than presenting estimates as confirmed revenue
How Performance Will Be Measured
• Lead generation: genuine, relevant quote requests and qualified business enquiries
• Lead quality: share of enquiries that match the services and are suitable for quotation
• Sales progression: enquiry-to-quote and quote-to-first-booking conversion
• Portal activation: new accounts completing their first paid shipment
• Managed bookings: new customers booking shipments through the company
• Commercial results: attributable booked revenue, gross profit and acquisition cost
• Retention: second shipments, repeat usage and reactivated customers
• Supporting indicators: relevant search traffic, landing-page conversion, social enquiries and engagement
Targets will be agreed after an initial audit of the website, traffic, available budget, sales capacity and current conversion performance. Marketing performance will be assessed alongside quotation speed and quality, pricing and operational follow-up, and is not treated as solely responsible for every sales outcome.
