Total Compensation Package: ₦ 300,000 monthly.

ROLE SUMMARY

Urban Crescent Furniture Ltd is seeking a Chartered Accountant with strong manufacturing accounting experience to manage the company’s accounting, financial reporting and financial control functions.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of manufacturing costs, inventory, work-in-progress, procurement, budgeting and cash-flow management.

We are looking for someone with sound judgement, professional maturity and the confidence to independently advise and challenge management, including the Founder, where necessary to protect the financial interests of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.
• Manage manufacturing and cost accounting, including materials, labour, overheads and Work-in-Progress (WIP).
• Determine and monitor actual product and project profitability.
• Monitor inventory valuation, material consumption, wastage and production cost variances.
• Reconcile procurement transactions, supplier invoices, inventory records and payments.
• Prepare budgets and rolling cash-flow forecasts.
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and flag potential cash-flow risks.
• Review payroll, bank reconciliations and key financial transactions.
• Maintain strong internal financial controls and approval procedures.
• Ensure tax, statutory and audit requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Develop and maintain finance SOPs and improve accounting processes.
• Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Professionally challenge transactions or management decisions that are financially unsound, inadequately documented or inconsistent with established controls.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
• ACA (ICAN) or ACCA qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing costing, inventory, WIP and management accounting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cash-flow management and financial controls.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience developing or strengthening finance and internal controls.
• Experience working within a growing manufacturing business.
• Experience producing product and project profitability analysis.
• Previous experience working closely with founders or senior management.

This role requires an Accountant who does more than record transactions. You will be expected to understand the business behind the numbers, protect the company’s financial interests and help management make disciplined financial decisions.
