Job Description
Role Summary The Emergency Room Nurse will assess, prioritise, and provide immediate care to patients presenting with urgent and life-threatening conditions. The nurse must be able to make sound clinical decisions within a fast-paced emergency environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritise cases using established triage protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and identify changes requiring immediate intervention.
• Administer medications and treatments according to medical instructions.
• Assist with resuscitation, stabilisation, and other emergency procedures.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, admission, transfer, or discharge.
• Maintain emergency equipment, medications, and supplies.
• Communicate clearly with patients, relatives, doctors, and other clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
• Follow emergency-response, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols.
• Participate in shift handovers, clinical audits, and emergency drills.
Requirements
• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria practising licence.
• Relevant emergency, acute-care, or critical-care nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is an advantage.
• Strong triage, assessment, and emergency-response skills.
• Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
• Willingness to support other clinical functions when required.
Pay: ₦280,000.00 - ₦320,000.00 per month
