A leading Oil & Gas company is seeking an experienced
Commercial Advisor
to support commercial strategy, contract management, project execution, and business delivery across major energy projects.
The successful candidate must have
demonstrable experience in EPC projects and direct experience within the gas sector
, including either
gas operations/projects or gas-fired power generation/gas generator projects
.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage commercial activities across
EPC, Oil & Gas, gas, and power generation projects
.
• Review, interpret, and manage contracts, commercial terms, agreements, and project documentation.
• Support contract negotiations, variations, claims, cost control, and commercial risk management.
• Provide commercial guidance throughout the full project lifecycle, from tendering and procurement through execution and close-out.
• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Management, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, commercial performance, contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support procurement activities, subcontractor management, vendor negotiations, and commercial evaluations.
• Assist with resolving contractual and commercial issues that may affect project delivery, cost, or schedule.
• Prepare commercial reports, forecasts, contract updates, and management-level recommendations.
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates
must meet all of the following core requirements
:
• Proven experience working as a
Commercial Advisor, Commercial Manager, Contracts/Commercial Specialist, or similar role within the Oil & Gas or Energy sector
.
• Strong EPC project experience is mandatory.
• Direct gas-sector experience is mandatory
, with experience in one or more of the following:
• Natural gas projects or gas operations
• Gas processing, gas infrastructure, or gas development projects
• Gas transmission/distribution projects
• Gas-fired power generation projects
• Gas generator projects
• Other major projects directly involving gas as a fuel, feedstock, or core project component
• Strong understanding of
EPC contracts, procurement, project delivery, commercial management, and contract administration
.
• Demonstrable experience in project cost control, commercial negotiations, contractual risk management, and change/variation management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project and technical teams.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting:
• Major Oil & Gas EPC projects
• Gas development or gas infrastructure projects
• Gas-fired power generation or gas generator projects
• Energy and infrastructure developments
• Large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction contracts
• Complex contractor, subcontractor, and vendor commercial arrangements
Important Screening Requirement
Please note: General Oil & Gas experience alone will not be sufficient for this position. Candidates must demonstrate both:
1. Proven EPC project experience; and
2. Direct experience with gas projects/operations or gas-fired power/gas generator projects.
Candidates whose experience is limited to general commercial, procurement, or Oil & Gas activities
without meaningful EPC and gas project exposure may not meet the requirements for this role.
