Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦350,000 Monthly, depending on experience

Our client is a growing company operating across the downstream oil & gas, energy, and logistics sectors, with expertise in the haulage of petroleum products, bulk supply and distribution, and PPE supply. With operations across Nigeria, the company is focused on delivering reliable energy and logistics solutions to businesses and commercial customers.

They are currently seeking a results-driven External Supply Sales Representative to drive business growth, develop new customer accounts, and expand the company's supply sales portfolio in Ibadan and surrounding markets.

Job Summary The External Supply Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new business, developing customer relationships, managing sales opportunities, and driving the supply of petroleum products and related services to existing and prospective customers.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on sales experience within the downstream oil & gas industry, strong business development skills, excellent negotiation ability, and the confidence to engage customers through both field-based and digital sales activities.

The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain a strong customer pipeline, achieve agreed sales targets, and ensure a smooth customer experience from initial engagement through supply and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify, prospect, and develop new customers and business opportunities within the downstream oil & gas market.
• Generate leads and build a strong pipeline of prospective customers through field visits, referrals, networking, digital research, phone calls, emails, and other sales channels.
• Present, promote, and sell the company's petroleum products, supply solutions, and related services to existing and prospective customers.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, distributors, businesses, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Understand customers' requirements and recommend appropriate products and supply solutions based on their needs.
• Conduct customer needs and cost-benefit analysis to identify opportunities and develop suitable commercial solutions.
• Negotiate with customers professionally to secure new business while protecting the company's commercial interests.
• Achieve agreed sales targets, revenue objectives, and customer acquisition goals within the required timelines.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and developments within the downstream oil & gas sector.
• Identify new market segments and potential customer groups for business expansion.
• Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong field presence within the assigned territory.
• Visit customer locations, particularly for initial supplies, to understand site requirements, procedures, and key personnel involved in the supply process.
• Coordinate closely with the supply and operations teams to ensure that customer orders and supplies are executed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure that sales and supply activities are properly managed to minimize shortages, material losses, and commercial exposure to the company.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunities, and follow-up schedules.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales/activity reports using approved reporting formats.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's products, services, pricing, supply terms, and QA/QC requirements.
• Communicate the company's value proposition and product benefits effectively to prospective and existing customers.
• Follow up on leads, quotations, negotiations, and pending customer requirements to convert opportunities into sales.
• Provide appropriate product and service information to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Complete required sales and administrative documentation accurately and promptly.
• Participate in relevant networking events, industry meetings, presentations, and other business development activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
• Identify and report workplace hazards and take appropriate steps to prevent unsafe acts and conditions.
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings and promote safe working practices.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven sales/business development experience, preferably within the downstream oil & gas industry.
• Demonstrable experience selling petroleum products, bulk fuel supply, energy products, logistics solutions, or related services will be highly advantageous.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of the B2B sales process, lead generation, prospecting, negotiation, and customer relationship management.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
• Excellent negotiation, persuasion, presentation, and closing skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and key business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of targets, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales/reporting tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively for customer visits and business development activities.
• A valid driver's licence and ability to move around the assigned territory will be an added advantage.

• Can represent the company professionally during customer visits and industry engagements.
