Role Description The Chief Operations Officer (Oil & Gas) will lead end-to-end operational strategy and execution for Ferdie Marie Solutions’ oil and gas portfolio in Lagos. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving process efficiency, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
The individual will manage operational teams, set performance targets, monitor key metrics, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration with finance, human resources, and project management.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable operational frameworks, optimizing resource utilization, managing risk, and supporting client engagement and service delivery in the oil and gas sector. The role also involves mentoring leaders, contributing to long-term business planning, and supporting continuous improvement across all operational activities.
Qualifications
• Strong Business Planning and strategic operations experience, with the ability to design and implement long-term growth plans.
• Proven Operations Management skills, including process optimization, performance monitoring, and cross-functional coordination.
• Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting operational data, identifying trends, and supporting decision-making.
• Solid understanding of Finance and Budgeting, including cost control, resource allocation, and ROI analysis.
• Extensive leadership experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally in senior operations roles.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, HSE standards, and risk management practices relevant to oil and gas operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively at executive and client levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, drive change, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
