Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and analytical MIS Lead to manage Management Information Systems, financial reporting, business analytics, and performance dashboards for our Oil & Gas / Metals & Mining operations in Lagos, Nigeria.
The ideal candidate should have a strong Finance and MIS background, excellent analytical capabilities, advanced Power BI skills, and hands-on experience in management reporting and business performance analysis. A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory for this position.
The role will work closely with senior management and business heads to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights for strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation, consolidation, and presentation of Monthly MIS, Management Reports, and Business Performance Dashboards.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and automated MIS reports covering financial and operational KPIs.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and business opportunities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packs for senior management.
• Monitor actual performance against Budget, Forecast, Business Plan, and KPIs, including detailed variance analysis.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Projects, Supply Chain, and other business functions to collect and validate data.
• Establish robust MIS processes, reporting standards, data controls, and reporting calendars.
• Automate recurring reports and reduce dependency on manual Excel-based reporting.
• Develop dashboards for Revenue, EBITDA, CAPEX, OPEX, Working Capital, Cash Flow, Inventory, Procurement, Sales, Production/Operations, and other business KPIs.
• Provide detailed financial and business analysis to support management decision-making.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used for management reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation, data visualization, and analytics.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and periodic business reviews.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely submission of MIS and performance reports.
• Present key findings and actionable insights to senior management.
• Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates, dashboards, and KPI definitions.
• Ensure confidentiality and appropriate governance of financial and business information.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS), Financial Reporting, and Business Analytics.
• Advanced hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data analysis.
• Good understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with large and complex datasets and convert data into meaningful business insights.
• Strong understanding of KPI development, dashboards, reporting automation, and data visualization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple reporting requirements under tight deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to interact with senior management.
Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in any of the following sectors will be preferred:
• Oil & Gas
• Metals & Mining
• Natural Resources
• Infrastructure / EPC
• Large-scale industrial businesses
Experience in an organization with multiple business units, subsidiaries, projects, or international operations will be an added advantage.
Mandatory Qualification
• Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
• Candidates without a CA qualification will not be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Additional qualifications in Finance, Analytics, Data Science, or Business Intelligence will be an advantage.
Experience
1520 years of relevant experience in MIS, Management Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analytics, or a related function.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience in:
• Managing end-to-end MIS/reporting

Preferred Candidate Profile
We are seeking a CA-qualified finance professional with strong MIS and Power BI expertise, preferably from an Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, or other large industrial organization.
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on professional who can independently manage MIS, build sophisticated Power BI dashboards, analyze financial and operational performance, and effectively communicate insights to senior management.
