Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Bauchi State, Nigeria. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. The role involves preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, reconciling bank accounts, and supporting cash flow management.
The Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal policies, and local regulations, and assist with tax calculations, filings, and audit preparations. The position also includes collaborating with other departments, generating periodic financial reports for management, and recommending improvements to financial processes and controls.
Qualifications
• Strong skills in general accounting, including bookkeeping, ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel) for data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes in Nigeria.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
