Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (Oil & Gas) will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient processes and high performance across all business units. This full-time, on-site role based in Lagos includes driving operational strategies, supervising project execution, and aligning operational activities with the company’s goals in the oil and gas sector. The COO will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement business plans, manage budgets, and monitor key performance indicators.

Responsibilities also include optimizing resource allocation, improving workflows, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory and safety compliance. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, mentoring managers, and promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong Business Planning and strategic leadership skills, with experience developing and executing long-term operational plans.

• Proven Operations Management expertise, including process optimization, performance monitoring, and cross-functional team leadership.

• Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting complex data, managing KPIs, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

• Solid Finance and Budgeting skills, including experience with financial planning, cost control, and resource allocation.

• Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, with knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and operational best practices.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

• Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and manage risk in dynamic environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
