Job Description
The Business Development Partner is a strategic role responsible for identifying, incubating, and securing long-term, high-value partnerships and ventures within the Benin, Warri and Sapele corridors of the market.
Moving beyond transactional sales, this role focuses on creating synergistic alliances with National Oil Companies (NOCs), International Oil Companies (IOCs), Indigenous Operators, and financial institutions to unlock new revenue streams, enter new markets, and shape the future energy landscape.
Working under the guidance and supervision of the Business Development Strategist (BDS) as well as the Sales Manager and in close collaboration with the technical teams, as well as other key stakeholders, to identify opportunities, nurture leads, maintain existing customers, and close successful deals.
Key Responsibilities and KPI:
Strategic Market Leadership & Opportunity Incubation:
• Conduct in-depth analysis of the Nigerian energy market to identify macro trends, emerging high networth projects, strategic alliances and portfolio investments, mergers & acquisitions within the oil & gas industry, emerging opportunities from investor divestment, and market intelligence gathering.
• Work with the BDS and Sales Manager to develop for execution a comprehensive 3–5-year strategic sales & BD roadmap, aligned with Fedoz’ corporate objectives.
• Identify and evaluate potential Joint Ventures (JVs), Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), and strategic equity partnerships.
Strategic Partnership & Alliance Management:
• Assist and compliment the BD & Sales Managers to proactively manage customers’ executive & senior management personnel particularly instrumental to our business sustainability.
• Act as the primary relationship officer for a portfolio of strategic partners in that corridor, ensuring alignment, resolving conflicts, and maximizing mutual value creation over the partnership lifecycle.
• Work closely with NCDMB and other Government-Regulatory Bodies to navigate the public sector landscape and build relationships with relevant government agencies and regulators.
Complex Deal Origination:
• Work with the BDS to originate the development of large-scale, integrated project opportunities (e.g., Full-Field Development, Major EPCIC contracts, Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) models as maybe desirable).
• Monitor/document the entire deal process from ideation, feasibility studies to financial modeling, risk assessment, negotiation, and final sign-off.
Local Content & Value Creation Strategy:
• Serve as the company's rep on the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.
• Design and integrate innovative local content strategies into all partnership and bid proposals, creating tangible value for the client.
• Identify and vet potential local partners for strategic collaborations, ensuring they meet technical, financial, and operational standards.
• Ensure all partnership activities adhere to the highest standards of corporate governance, compliance, and ethical conduct.
Educational And Professional Requirements:
Education: Degree in Business Administration or a related field. A Master’s Degree or MBA is desirable.
Good understanding of the different sectors in the Nigerian and global oil & gas industry, trends and activities.
Experience: Minimum of 7-9 years of progressive experience in a strategic business development, corporate development, or partnership role within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record.
Deal Sheet: A demonstrable history of successfully working with a team to originating, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value deals, JVs, or long-term partnerships.
Network: An extensive and active network at the senior executive management level within NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), IOCs, and top-tier indigenous NOCs.
Financial Acumen: Understanding financial modeling and valuation skills with experience in structuring project finance-budgeting and evaluating investment opportunities.

Pay: ₦350,400.00 - ₦550,000.00 per month
