Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Associate to manage the daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting management, a strong understanding of financial reporting, and the ability to implement and maintain accounting systems and controls. You will also be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements, audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Monitor, analyze, and interpret accounting data to produce comprehensive financial reports or statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure consistent financial practices.
• Coordinate and complete accounting audits and provide actionable recommendations to improve systems and processes.
• Review and improve accounting procedures and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
• Assign projects to ensure compliance with policies and maintain accuracy.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document all financial transactions and ensure easy retrieval.
• Meet financial accounting objectives, providing clear reports and updates to senior management.
Requirements and skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Must possess ICAN membership or a relevant accounting certification.
• Proven working experience as an Accounting Officer, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Associate.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
• Strong ability to manipulate large volumes of financial data and extract valuable insights.
• In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent ability to direct, supervise, and support a team of accounting professionals.
Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lagos
