Role Description:

The Finance Manager – MFB and Fintech will oversee financial planning, reporting, and control for WayaBank’s microfinance banking and fintech operations. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Lekki, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cash flow and liquidity, and ensuring accurate, timely financial statements and management reports. The role will supervise finance operations, including reconciliations, payables, receivables, and treasury activities, while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

The Finance

Manager will collaborate with product, operations, and risk teams to evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, optimize profitability, and support strategic decision-making.

Hybrid : Twice a week in the office - Lekki Phase1

Qualifications

• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in banking or fintech environments.
• Expertise in financial reporting, accounting standards, and internal controls, with the ability to produce accurate, timely financial statements.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management for microfinance banks and digital financial services.
• Proficiency with finance and accounting software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools for decision support.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA) is an advantage.
• Background in Nigerian banking or fintech sectors, with knowledge of MFB regulations and digital payment ecosystems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment and balance on-site work in Lekki with remote collaboration.
