Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and eager-to-learn Accounting Officer to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with who is looking to build a strong foundation in financial operations within a structured, fast-paced environment. You will support day-to-day bookkeeping, reporting, and reconciliation activities while working closely with senior finance team members.

Who We Are Looking For
• A recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an NYSC corps member
• Someone with a solid grasp of basic accounting principles and a genuine interest in growing a career in finance.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong numerical accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems).
• A fast learner who takes initiative, asks questions, and is eager to develop technical and professional skills.
• Trustworthy and discreet, given the sensitive nature of financial information.

Key Responsibilities
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Support monthly bank and account reconciliations, flagging discrepancies for review.
• Help prepare basic financial reports and statements for management review.
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial documents.
• Assist with expense tracking, petty cash management, and budget monitoring.
• Support the team during audits by gathering and organizing required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (HND or BSc) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Maximum of 1 year of relevant experience (including internships or NYSC placements in an accounting/finance function).
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive attitude.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

• Accurate and timely recording of financial transactions with minimal errors.
• Reconciliations completed on schedule with discrepancies promptly flagged and resolved.
• Growing independence in handling routine accounting tasks within the first few months.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦150,000.00 per month
