Job Purpose • The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing the company's overall sales, marketing, business development and commercial growth strategy.
• The role will lead initiatives to increase revenue, expand market share, acquire and retain customers, develop strategic partnerships, strengthen the company's brand position and build a high-performing sales and marketing function in the E-Waste Industry.
• The position holder will be accountable for achieving agreed revenue, profitability, customer acquisition and market expansion targets while ensuring that sales and marketing activities align with the company's overall strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:
• Develop and implement the company's annual and long-term sales strategy.
• Establish sales targets, revenue objectives and performance KPIs.
• Develop strategies to achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets.
• Identify new revenue streams, products, services and market opportunities.
• Monitor sales performance and take corrective action where required.
• Develop sales forecasts, pipelines and revenue projections.
• Establish effective sales processes, methodologies and reporting systems.
• Drive the conversion of qualified leads into profitable business.
• Review pricing, commercial proposals and sales strategies to maximize profitability.
• Develop key account management strategies for major customers.
Business Development:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with strategic clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations for major commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Develop proposals, bids, tenders and commercial presentations.
• Monitor competitors, market trends and industry developments.
• Identify opportunities for geographical expansion and market penetration.
• Establish strategic alliances, partnerships and distribution channels.
• Develop and maintain a robust business development pipeline.
Marketing Strategy:
• Develop and execute the company's integrated marketing strategy.
• Lead brand positioning, corporate communications and market visibility initiatives.
• Develop marketing campaigns that generate qualified leads and support revenue growth.
• Oversee digital marketing, social media, content marketing, email marketing and other promotional activities.
• Coordinate market research and customer intelligence initiatives.
• Monitor marketing campaign performance and return on investment.
• Ensure consistency of the company's brand across all communication channels.
• Develop marketing materials, presentations, brochures and other commercial collateral.
• Manage external marketing agencies, consultants and service providers where applicable.
Customer Acquisition & Retention:
• Develop strategies for acquiring new customers and increasing customer lifetime value.
• Strengthen customer retention and relationship management initiatives.
• Establish systems for collecting and analyzing customer feedback.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address recurring customer concerns.
• Develop cross-selling and upselling strategies.
• Ensure key customers receive appropriate levels of engagement and support.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:
• Conduct regular market and competitor analysis.
• Identify changes in customer needs, market conditions and industry trends.
• Monitor competitor pricing, products, services and positioning.
• Provide management with insights and recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities within the company's target markets.
Sales & Marketing Team Leadership:
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team.
• Set individual and team performance targets.
• Establish clear KPIs and performance expectations.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
• Identify training and development requirements for team members.
• Motivate the team to achieve and exceed commercial targets.
• Develop succession and talent development plans for key commercial roles.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, customer focus and continuous improvement.
Commercial Planning & Budget Management:
• Prepare and manage the Sales & Marketing annual budget.
• Monitor departmental expenditure and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate the ROI of sales and marketing investments.
• Approve commercial activities within delegated authority.
• Ensure resources are allocated to high-performing markets and channels.
Reporting & Performance Management:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales and marketing reports.
• Present commercial performance and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Track revenue, sales pipeline, conversion rates, customer acquisition and retention metrics.
• Develop dashboards and management reports for commercial performance.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and market projections.
• Ensure timely reporting of risks, opportunities and performance gaps.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Finance to manage revenue, pricing, profitability and commercial performance.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure customer commitments are effectively delivered.
• Partner with HR on sales and marketing workforce planning, recruitment and capability development.
• Work with Procurement and Supply Chain teams where commercial opportunities require operational support.
• Collaborate with senior management on corporate strategy and business expansion.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Sales, Management or a related discipline.
• A Master's degree/MBA or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
Professional Experience:
• Minimum of 8–12 years' progressive experiencein sales, marketing, business development or commercial management.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior sales, marketing or commercial leadership role.
• Demonstrable track record of achieving significant revenue and business growth.
• Experience managing and developing high-performing commercial teams.
• Experience in strategic account management, business development and partnership development.
• Experience working with corporate, institutional or high-value clients is desirable.
