Job Summary
• Due to increasing activities, our client urgently desires services of a HR/ Admin Manager who has a minimum of HND or BSc in any relevant field.
• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience. A previous experience in the same role in the Marine Industry will be an advantage.
• For logistic reasons, the position will favour candidates residing within Warri or Sapele or other areas close to those vicinities.
The job responsibilities for this role are
• Defining the nature and responsibilities of positions and the skills and knowledge necessary for them
• Recruitment and staffing: Attracting, interviewing and selecting the right candidates to meet an organization's needs
• Designing an organizational framework that maximizes human resources and establishes systems of communication
• Addressing health, safety and worker-management issues, including compliance with federal workplace laws
• Evaluating workers' educational needs and designing programs to meet them
• Assessing employee job performance to provide feedback and use in determining promotions, salary increases and termination of employment
• Designing programs to reward employees for accomplishments and motivate them to continue performing at a high level
• Designing programs and procedures to ensure that all candidates, employees, and customers are treated fairly and without discrimination
• Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
• Creating strategic HR plans
• Administering compensation and benefits programsActing as a liaison between upper management and employees
• Supporting the performance review process
• Resolving conflict among employees
• Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal employment laws
• Forecasting future staffing needs
• Provide high quality administrative services to the Maritime Operations section.
• Provide reports as required.
• Maintain systems for records and databases as required.
• Coordinate and assist with meetings as required.
• Assist with processing applications and preparing for events within timeframes.
• Process aquatic event applications, liaising with Maritime staff.
• Ensuring compliance with maritime laws, regulations, and international conventions
• Working with various stakeholders, including shipping companies, port authorities, and government bodies
• Managing maritime safety and environmental protection programs
• Ensuring that all administrative work complies with internal
• Ensuring that work is conducted in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
• Ensuring that queries are dealt with in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
