We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized
Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to support financial operations, accounting processes, and accurate financial reporting. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Key responsibilities include
• Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare and process journal entries, invoices, payments, receipts, and financial documentation.
• Perform bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow activities.
• Verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules where applicable.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal control procedures.
• Maintain organized financial records while protecting confidential information.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to support business objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping practices.
• Knowledge of financial statements, general ledger accounting, and reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is an advantage.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis concepts.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues accurately.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
