It acts as a technical partner via the State Partnership for Agriculture.

We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Project Accountant Location: Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee financial management, project financing, donor relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial transparency, accountability, and efficient project execution, particularly within donor-funded and development-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management &

• Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and bookkeeping systems Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and audit requirements Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for projects Project Finance &
• Management: Oversee financial planning and execution of projects Monitor project budgets and ensure funds are utilised efficiently Provide financial insights to support project decision-making Track and report project expenditures against approved budgets Donor &
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with donors, partners, and funding organisations Prepare and submit financial reports and documentation required by donors Ensure compliance with donor funding guidelines and requirements Support proposal development with financial data and budgeting Documentation &
• Compliance: Prepare and maintain all financial documentation and supporting records Ensure proper filing systems for audits and regulatory reviews Support internal and external audits Maintain transparency and accountability in all financial processes Field Work &
• Operations: Be available to travel for field assignments and project monitoring Conduct on-site financial assessments where necessary Support operational teams with financial guidance Requirements Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) 3–5 years experience in accounting/finance roles Strong experience in: Project finance and budgeting Financial reporting and compliance Bookkeeping and accounting systems Proven ability to work with donors and manage funded projects Excellent analytical and organisational skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong communication and reporting skills Added Advantage: Prior experience working with an NGO or development organisation Experience handling donor-funded projects (local or international) Knowledge of grant management and compliance Personal Attributes: High level of integrity and professionalism Detail-oriented and highly organised Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Willingness to travel and adapt to field conditions Why Join Us?
