About the Role
Our client, a prominent commercial bank with a strong presence in Yola, Adamawa , is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Finance Specialist. This crucial role involves managing and growing the bank's trade finance portfolio, providing expert advice to clients on international trade transactions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The Senior Trade Finance Specialist will be responsible for structuring trade finance solutions, assessing risks associated with international trade, and building strong relationships with corporate clients engaged in import and export activities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of trade finance instruments, international trade law, and risk management practices. Key Responsibilities Develop, structure, and manage a diverse range of trade finance products, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Guarantees, Documentary Collections, and Supply Chain Finance. Provide expert advice and solutions to corporate clients on their international trade financing needs. Assess and manage the risks associated with trade finance transactions, ensuring compliance with bank policies and international standards (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP). Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, identifying opportunities to deepen engagement. Collaborate with relationship managers and other internal departments to provide integrated financial solutions. Monitor market trends and regulatory changes affecting international trade and trade finance. Ensure efficient processing and settlement of trade finance transactions. Conduct due diligence and assess the creditworthiness of clients involved in trade finance. Assist in developing and delivering training on trade finance products and services. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field. Professional qualifications like CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) are highly desirable. Minimum of 6 years of experience in trade finance, international banking, or a related role. In-depth knowledge of trade finance instruments, international trade practices, and relevant regulations. Proven experience in managing client relationships and structuring complex trade finance solutions. Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation in international trade. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Benefits
