Job Description
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

ACCOUNTABILITY

· Accountable to the Project Director
· Working in close coordination with the Project Coordinator to ensure effective integration between design, procurement and construction activities.

· Responsible for the overall construction delivery of the project, ensuring that all works are executed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards, within budget and in accordance with the approved programme.

· Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Site Managers, Site Engineers and discipline supervisors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Programme Management

• Develop, maintain and manage the detailed construction programme in accordance with the Project Master Programme.

• Lead construction activities to achieve programme milestones and contractual completion dates.

• Identify critical path activities and proactively implement recovery plans where necessary.

• Coordinate multiple concurrent work fronts, ensuring labour, plant and subcontractors are deployed efficiently.

• Monitor daily and weekly productivity against planned outputs and implement corrective actions where required.

· Construction Management

• Lead the delivery of major reinforced concrete, structural steel and infrastructure works from mobilisation through to completion.

• Manage the execution of heavy earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, buildings, utilities, roads, airfield pavements and specialist installations.

• Review construction methodologies to ensure safe, efficient and practical execution.

• Coordinate site logistics, temporary works, lifting operations and construction sequencing.

• Ensure buildability is continually reviewed and opportunities for programme improvement are identified.

· Leadership

• Provide leadership and direction to Site Managers, Site Engineers, subcontractors and construction teams.

• Establish a culture of accountability, productivity, quality and continuous improvement.

• Mentor and develop project staff.

• Coordinate alongside Project Coordinator daily production meetings and weekly planning meetings.

· Design Coordination

• Work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure construction activities comply with the latest approved drawings and specifications.

• Participate in constructability reviews and provide practical engineering solutions.

• Identify design conflicts and coordinate timely resolution.

• Assist in implementing engineering changes while minimising impact on programme and cost.

· Procurement Coordination

• Coordinate procurement priorities with the Project Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment and specialist subcontractors.

• Review long-lead items and monitor procurement schedules against construction requirements.

• Ensure materials are available ahead of planned construction activities.

· Quality Management

• Ensure all construction works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable regulations and quality procedures.

• Monitor inspections, testing and quality records.

• Lead the resolution of defects, non-conformances and technical issues.

• Promote right-first-time construction practices.

· Cost Control

• Monitor labour, plant and material productivity.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or programme.

• Review variations, additional works and construction methodologies from a commercial perspective.

• Support project cost forecasting.

· Risk Management

• Identify construction risks before they impact programme, quality or cost.

• Develop mitigation and contingency plans.

• Ensure site resources, equipment and temporary facilities remain operational.

• Coordinate interface risks between contractors and work packages.

· Stakeholder Management

• Attend progress meetings with Consultants and Authorities.

• Present construction progress, recovery plans and key project issues.

• Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

· Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly construction reports.

• Monitor progress against programme, budget and productivity targets.

• Report critical risks, resource requirements and construction constraints.

• Maintain accurate construction records.

· Bachelor's Degree in, Civil Engineering, Structural Engine
