• St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is inviting applications from highly experienced, compassionate, and professionally competent Registered Nurses with a minimum of five (5) years post-qualification clinical experience to join our healthcare team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, supervising junior nursing staff where necessary, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices, and contributing to the hospital's commitment to excellent patient-centered care.
• The ideal candidate should possess sound clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, leadership ability, and a passion for delivering safe, ethical, and compassionate healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor clinical conditions, and develop appropriate nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and promptly report significant changes to the appropriate clinician.
• Assist physicians during medical procedures, emergencies, and ward rounds.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
• Educate patients and their relatives on disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior nurses, nurse assistants, and student nurses where applicable.
• Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic patient care environment.
• Collaborate effectively with doctors, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuous professional development programmes.
• Uphold patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and the hospital's core values at all times.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations within the hospital.
Education & Professional Requirements
• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Registered Midwife (RM) qualification is an added advantage.
• Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) is an added advantage.
• Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) practicing license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable. Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification is an added advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years post-qualification clinical experience in a reputable hospital.
• Experience in any of the following areas will be an added advantage: • Accident & Emergency
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Theatre
• Maternity/Labour Ward
• General Ward
• Paediatrics
• Medical/Surgical Ward

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
• Good documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills.
• Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and respond to emergencies when required.
