Job summary

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily financial transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll, managing receivables and payables, and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and statutory regulations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Record daily financial transactions accurately.

• Maintain the company's books of account.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.

• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.

• Process all payments

• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.

• Process supplier invoices and accounts payable.

• Assist with payroll preparation and salary processing.

• Prepare tax schedules and assist with statutory remittances (PAYE, Pension, VAT, WHT, etc.).

• Maintain accurate inventory valuation records

• Monitor expenses against budgets.

• Support financial audits and provide required documentation.

• Prepare payment vouchers and financial documentation.

• Maintain proper filing of accounting records.

• Assist management with financial analysis and budgeting.

• Ensure confidentiality of financial information.

• Carry out any other finance-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of Second Class Lower/Lower Credit.

• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.

• NYSC completed.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles.

• Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting.

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

• Problem-solving ability.

• Ability to work independently and within a team.
