Role Description The HR Business Partner (Construction) / Personnel Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Nigeria. This position supports construction operations by aligning human resources practices with project and business objectives.
Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations on construction sites, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. The role oversees recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning for construction projects, as well as coordinating performance management processes and supporting supervisors with coaching and feedback. The HR Business Partner collaborates closely with project managers, site supervisors, and senior leadership to foster a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Policies, with the ability to design, interpret, and implement HR frameworks that support construction operations.
• Demonstrated experience in Employee Relations, including handling grievances, conflict resolution, and promoting positive workplace culture on project sites.
• Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it applies to the Nigerian construction sector, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Experience with Performance Management, including setting objectives, conducting evaluations, and supporting development plans for site and office personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR certification is an advantage.
• Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or supervisory HR role, preferably within construction, engineering, or related industries.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
