• This is a strategic leadership role for someone who is passionate about transforming nursing practice, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services across the hospital.
• Develop and implement nursing policies, standards, and clinical protocols aligned with best practices.
• Drive a culture of quality, patient safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and accreditation standards.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for the nursing workforce.
• Coach, mentor, and develop nurse leaders while fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Conduct regular nursing rounds, audits, and performance reviews to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Monitor and improve nursing-sensitive quality indicators, including patient satisfaction, medication safety, infection prevention, falls, pressure injuries, and documentation quality.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical leaders to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Lead investigations into nursing incidents, implement corrective actions, and strengthen systems to prevent recurrence.
• Promote evidence-based nursing practice and encourage innovation in patient care.
• Ensure efficient deployment of nursing resources while maintaining safe staffing levels.
• Build a culture where excellence is recognised, poor performance is addressed promptly, and accountability is non-negotiable.
Requirements
• Registered Nurse RN/RM with a current practising licence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing B.NSc; a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years in a senior nursing leadership role, such as Nursing Manager, Assistant head of Nursing, or Head of Nursing..
• Strong knowledge of nursing administration, clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and healthcare regulations.
• Demonstrated success in leading organisational change and improving clinical outcomes.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
