Victory Empowerment Centre (VEC) is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, regulatory compliance, and internal financial controls. 🌟 About the Role

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the organization's accounting function, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing statutory and management reports, overseeing reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

πŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting activities.

Produce management reports and financial performance analyses.

Accounting Operations

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.

Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.

Monitor fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

Assist management with financial planning and business decision-making.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate internal and external audit activities.

🎯 Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5–8 years' progressive accounting experience, preferably within financial services, microfinance, banking, or a regulated organization.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and accounting principles.

Experience with accounting and financial management software.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
