Role Description
The Fund Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities for the company’s mutual funds and related investment vehicles. This full-time role, based on-site in Lagos, involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, calculating Net Asset Values (NAV), reconciling portfolio positions, and ensuring accurate recording of income, expenses, and transactions.
The Fund
Accountant will coordinate with custodians, brokers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, support audits, and maintain compliance with regulatory and Shariah requirements. The role also includes preparing periodic financial and regulatory reports, supporting performance analysis, and contributing to process improvements in fund accounting operations.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Fund Accounting and NAV calculation, with the ability to manage daily, weekly, and monthly fund processes.
• Experience preparing and analyzing Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for investment funds or similar entities.
• Solid understanding of Finance principles, including investment products, capital markets, and portfolio valuation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with portfolio management or fund administration systems is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA) is an added benefit.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately under time constraints.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
• Interest or experience in Islamic finance and non-interest financial products is a plus.
