Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Petroleum Engineer / Oil and Gas Sales Engineer role based in Port Harcourt. The role includes evaluating client technical requirements, providing petroleum engineering support, and recommending suitable products and services across marketing, logistics, marine operations, and depot services.
Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing reservoir and production data, supporting drilling and field development decisions, preparing technical proposals, and delivering product presentations to existing and potential clients. The engineer will develop and maintain client relationships, prepare quotations and bids, and collaborate with operations, logistics, and depot teams to ensure timely, safe delivery of products and services. The role also includes monitoring market trends, supporting pricing strategies, preparing regular sales and technical reports, and ensuring strict compliance with industry safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
• Strong technical foundation in Petroleum, Petroleum Engineering, and Oil & Gas operations.
• Hands-on experience or solid understanding of Reservoir Management and production optimization.
• Knowledge of Drilling operations, well planning, and related engineering workflows.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear value propositions for customers in a sales or client-facing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Experience in oil and gas marketing, technical sales, or field engineering roles is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with attention to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams on-site.
• Proficiency with engineering and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office; exposure to reservoir or drilling software is an advantage).
