About the company
We are supporting a global leader in luxury wines & spirits in hiring a Marketing Director to drive brand strategy, portfolio growth, and market activation across Nigeria and Ghana. This is a high-impact leadership role for a marketing professional with deep experience in premium brands, consumer insights, and integrated marketing execution.
Role Summary
The Marketing Director will shape the long‑term brand strategy, lead annual planning, and ensure world‑class execution across digital, trade, partnerships, and consumer experiences. You will collaborate closely with regional teams, global brand houses, commercial partners, and agencies to drive sustainable brand growth.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Portfolio Leadership
• Develop and implement annual brand plans aligned with global and regional strategy
• Build strong relationships with global brand teams and key customers
• Lead culturally relevant partnerships, advocacy programs, and brand experiences
• Translate consumer insights into actionable strategies and locally relevant campaigns
Integrated Marketing & Activation
• Oversee 360° campaigns, PR, digital, and influencer initiatives
• Ensure premium execution across On & Off Trade channels
• Drive innovation launches and go‑to‑market strategies
• Manage media planning, deployment, and performance evaluation
Commercial Collaboration
• Co‑develop channel and key account plans with commercial teams
• Build tools and programs that support sales objectives and brand equity
• Monitor brand performance, profitability, and promotional efficiency
Leadership & Agency Management
• Lead and develop a team of brand and product managers
• Manage relationships with creative, media, PR, and research agencies
• Ensure optimal allocation of A&P budgets and strong ROI
Candidate Profile
• 8–12 years’ experience in marketing or brand management (Wines & Spirits or FMCG preferred)
• Strong expertise in integrated marketing, digital, PR, and consumer insights
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and agencies
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking
• High drive, agility, and ability to operate in a premium, fast‑paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is an advantage
• Fluent in English; French is a plus
