Job Summary
• Afripoint Group and its subsidiaries are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the company’s financial operations.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial documentation, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures across the group.
• Professional accounting certification is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Track outstanding payments and follow up where necessary.
Bank Reconciliation:
• Perform periodic bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial controls.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc..
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities when required.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare management reports and financial statements.
• Provide financial analysis to support business decision-making.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Internal Controls:
• Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
• Support implementation of effective financial control systems.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 2–4 years relevant accounting experience.
• Experience working in a corporate or multi-business environment is an advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Good understanding of taxation and financial regulations in Nigeria.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
