Job Description
Our client, a leading real estate company in Nigeria, is looking to hire a General Accountant to lead its finance team. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and team management to support business growth and financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with statutory deductions and remittances.
• Prepare and file tax returns, VAT filings, and other regulatory submissions.
• Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and variance analysis.
• Support external auditors during annual audits.
• Monitor project expenditures and development budgets.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Prepare management reports and financial dashboards for senior leadership.
• Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, and external consultants as required.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, construction, hospitality, or property development.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with project accounting and real estate financial reporting is an advantage.

Pay: From ₦500,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
• Lagos: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
