Job Title: Digital & Access Solutions Sales Representative

Reports to: Managing Director - Ghana

Functional relationships: Managing Director, Marketing Team, Technical Support Teams.

Location: Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt - Nigeria

ROLE PURPOSE

The Digital & Access Solutions Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market penetration across Nigeria by promoting and selling the organisation’s portfolio of digital access and security solutions. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, influencing project specifications, managing customer relationships, and delivering end to end sales solutions across retail, commercial, and project based environments.

The successful candidate will engage with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, system integrators, installers, distributors, and end users to position the organisation as a preferred solutions provider. The role requires a commercially driven professional capable of managing complex sales cycles, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering sustainable business growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development and Market Expansion


Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across commercial, residential, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, education, and government sectors.


Research organisations, projects, and industry stakeholders to identify potential sales opportunities and market expansion initiatives.


Develop and execute territory sales strategies that support revenue growth, market penetration, and increased adoption of the organisation’s solutions.


Work closely with the marketing and leadership teams to develop and implement sales and business development initiatives.


Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across retail, commercial, and project based environments.

Sales and Customer Relationship Management


Promote and sell the full range of digital access, access control, entrance automation, and security solutions.


Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, system integrators, installers, distributors, and end users.


Develop a portfolio of new and existing clients to support sustainable revenue growth and customer retention.


Manage customer expectations throughout the sales cycle and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions that address client requirements.


Conduct regular customer engagements, presentations, demonstrations, and business development meetings to strengthen market presence and drive sales performance.

Project Specification and Solution Selling


Influence project specifications by engaging architects, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders early in the project lifecycle.


Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and continuing professional development sessions to industry stakeholders.


Review project requirements, specifications, and facility standards to identify suitable solutions and commercial opportunities.


Work closely with customers and internal teams to develop tailored solutions that align with project and operational requirements.

Sales Execution and Commercial Management


Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, contract closure, implementation support, and payment follow up.


Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts while maintaining strong customer relationships and achieving business objectives.


Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.


Support debt collection activities and follow up on outstanding customer payments where required.


Achieve agreed monthly and annual revenue, margin, and market share targets.

Sales Reporting and Performance Management


Maintain accurate customer records, sales opportunities, quotations, and project information within company systems.


Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports for management review.


Prepare and present sales performance reports, pipeline updates, and business development insights to management and key stakeholders.


Monitor competitor activity, market trends, customer requirements, and emerging industry opportunities to support informed decision making.

Product Knowledge and Technical Development


Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organisation’s product portfolio and emerging technologies.


Remain current on industry developments, market trends, and competitor offerings.


Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing technical guidance and solution recommendations aligned with their requirements.

MEASURABLE OUTCOME


Achieve monthly and annual sales revenue targets.


Achieve agreed gross margin and profitability targets.


Increase market share across assigned territories and customer segments.


Grow the value and quality of the sales pipeline and project opportunity portfolio.


Increase specification wins and project conversion rates.


Expand the number of active customers and strategic accounts.


Maintain accurate sales forecasting and reporting.


Increase customer retention and repeat business opportunities.


Strengthen distributor, channel partner, and stakeholder engagement.


Achieve timely closure of commercial opportunities and project sales cycles.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Systems, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.


Minimum of three years of experience in business development, technical sales, account management, project sales, or solution sales within access control, electronic security, entrance automation, building materials, construction, smart building technologies, physical security technologies, or related industries.


Experience working with architects, consultants, contractors, developers, system integrators, installers, distributors, and end users.


Experience managing project based sales opportunities and complex sales cycles.


Experience in distributor and channel partner management is highly desirable.


Strong understanding of specification selling and consultative sales methodologies.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Ability to interpret project specifications, technical drawings, facility standards, and related documentation.


Knowledge of the construction and built environment ecosystem, including the roles of architects, consultants, contractors, quantity surveyors, developers, and project managers.


Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
