About the Role
Ellasot Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable Oil & Gas servicing company seeking a competent, proactive, and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join its operations team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, supplier evaluation, and the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required to support business operations and project execution. The role requires an individual with strong experience in both local and foreign procurement within the Oil & Gas sector, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships while ensuring cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
• Source and procure materials, equipment, tools, spare parts, and services in line with company requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable local and international suppliers and vendors.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other procurement documentation.
• Review, compare, and analyze supplier quotations to determine the most cost-effective and suitable procurement options.
• Conduct market research and supplier assessments to identify sourcing opportunities and alternative vendors.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support operational and project objectives.
Vendor & Contract Management
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and service agreements with suppliers.
• Prepare, review, and administer supplier contracts and purchase agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, OEMs, and service providers.
• Monitor supplier performance and address procurement-related challenges to ensure service quality and reliability.
• Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and maintain an approved vendor database.
Procurement Operations
• Generate purchase orders and ensure accurate processing of procurement transactions.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, logistics, and project teams to understand procurement requirements and delivery schedules.
• Track purchase orders and shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Liaise with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs agents for international procurement activities.
• Ensure all procured items meet required specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements.
• Inspect and evaluate purchased materials and equipment where applicable.
Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and contract files.
• Ensure compliance with NIPEX requirements, Nigerian Content Development regulations, and applicable Oil & Gas industry standards.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, spend reports, and management updates.
• Support audits and procurement reviews by maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
Cost Management & Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
• Analyze procurement trends, supplier performance metrics, and market conditions to support decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement and supply chain function.
• Assist in inventory planning and replenishment activities to minimize stock shortages and excess inventory.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Experience
• Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience within an Oil & Gas Servicing Company.
• Demonstrated experience in both foreign and domestic procurement.
• Experience sourcing oilfield equipment, industrial materials, engineering supplies, and project-related services.
• Familiarity with importation processes, international sourcing, and logistics coordination is highly desirable.
Professional Certifications (Advantageous)
• Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
• Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD).
• Any relevant procurement, supply chain, or logistics certification.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration skills.
• Sound understanding of oilfield equipment, materials, and service procurement processes.
• Familiarity with NIPEX registration requirements and Nigerian Content regulations.

• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using ERP systems or procurement management software is an added advantage.

Job Type: Permanent
Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
