Our client, a rapidly expanding conglomerate, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee their accounting operations in Enugu, Enugu, NG . This is an on-site position that requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of corporate accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, managing the accounting team, and supporting the company's strategic financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic financial plans. Manage the audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings. Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and filing requirements. Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in accounting operations. Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree and/or a professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Extensive knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian Accounting Standards. Proven experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations in Nigeria. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations. High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. Experience within a manufacturing or consumer goods industry is a plus.
