# Finance & Accounts Associate

## About the Role
Our client, a leading company in the upstream oil and gas sector, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Finance & Accounts Associate** to support its finance, accounting, procurement, and administrative functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation, procurement support, cash flow management, and compliance activities while ensuring efficient business operations and adherence to organizational policies.
## Key Responsibilities
### Finance & Accounting
• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare and monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash position, and work-in-progress reports.
• Process accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and supporting financial documentation.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Manage cash flow, payroll support, VAT, withholding tax, and statutory deductions.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze company profitability and provide financial insights to management.
### Taxation & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities including FIRS, LIRS, and other relevant agencies.
• Manage tax planning and tax efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure tax filings and statutory submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
### Budgeting & Financial Planning
• Coordinate annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
• Monitor strategic and operational expenditures.
• Provide financial analysis to support business planning and decision-making.
• Track project costs, budgets, opportunities, and financial risks.
### Procurement & Contract Administration
• Support procurement processes and vendor management activities.
• Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
• Conduct cost analysis and evaluate sourcing strategies.
• Monitor supplier and vendor performance.
• Ensure proper documentation and record management for procurement activities.
### Business Operations & Reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
• Maintain proper documentation and records management systems.
• Support audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Prepare project and management reports as required.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and support implementation.
### Stakeholder Management
• Maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, financial institutions, auditors, and business partners.
• Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely escalation of operational and financial issues.
• Support business development and strategic growth initiatives.
### Administrative & HR Support
• Support employee administration processes where required.
• Assist with employment documentation and personnel records.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Support recruitment and employee-related administrative activities.
## Requirements
### Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CFA, ICAN, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
### Experience
• Minimum of 6 years' relevant experience in finance, accounting, taxation, or financial management.
• Experience within the Oil & Gas industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and compliance requirements.
