The Person
• This role provides strategic leadership in the governance, acquisition, protection, and administration of NLNG’s land assets, while ensuring sustainable resolution of compensation, resettlement, and land‑related claims.
• It is a critical role that supports NLNG’s growth, operational continuity, and relationship with host communities and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide governance and accountability in the strategic management of NLNG’s land portfolio
• Lead negotiations for land acquisition, leases, and rights of way for major corporate and expansion projects
• Ensure accurate documentation, custody, and management of land titles, master plans, and corporate land registers
• Coordinate legal due diligence, registry searches, and perfection of title for all company land assets
• Lead legal support for compensation, resettlement, and community‑related land claims, ensuring timely resolution.
• Engage regulators, host communities, and stakeholders to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance
• Manage interfaces with external solicitors, surveyors, valuers, and other service providers
Qualification and Experience
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Law LL.B and B.L qualification
• 12 years post‑call to bar experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role
• Experience in a reputable organisation, preferably within Oil & Gas or large infrastructure environments
• Proven expertise in land acquisition, compensation frameworks, stakeholder engagement, courtroom practice, and legal risk management
