Job Description
Our client is a leading innovative financial aggregator in Africa. They are looking to hire a Head of Business Development (Oil & Gas) based in Nigeria & Kenya.

Job Responsibilities
• Develop and execute business development strategies to establish the company as the leading B2B payments, FX, and treasury management provider for the Oil & Gas industry.
• Identify and secure partnerships with Oil & Gas companies, energy traders, refineries, and service providers across key markets in Africa.
• Understand the complex payment flows, treasury operations, and FX needs specific to the Oil & Gas value chain.
• Design tailored solutions addressing industry-specific challenges like commodity trading settlements, contractor payments, and multi-currency treasury management
• Build relationships with C-suite executives and finance leaders in the Oil & Gas sector
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements that align with the unique operational requirements of Oil & Gas businesses
• Monitor industry trends, commodity price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors affecting the financial operations of Oil & Gas companies
• Coordinate with product and engineering teams to enhance our solutions for Oil & Gas-specific use cases
• Represent company at industry events, conferences, and forums related to Oil & Gas and energy finance
• Stay informed about regulatory developments affecting cross-border financial operations in the Oil & Gas industry

Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Petroleum Engineering, Energy Economics, or related field;
• 8+ years of experience in business development, with at least 3-5 years specifically working with Oil & Gas companies or energy trading firms
• Deep understanding of Oil & Gas industry operations, payment flows, treasury challenges, and financial processes
• Expertise in B2B payment solutions, FX management, and corporate treasury operations
• Proven track record of establishing and growing strategic partnerships with Oil & Gas businesses
• Strong relationships with immediately ready-to-onboard Oil & Gas companies, energy traders, or service providers in the sector
• Experience navigating the complex regulatory environment affecting financial transactions in the Oil & Gas industry
• Thorough knowledge of international payment systems, FX risk management, and liquidity optimization for resource-intensive businesses
• Understanding of blockchain technology and its applications in B2B payments and trade finance (preferred)
• Familiarity with industry-specific compliance requirements, including sanctions screening, anti-corruption laws, and cross-border transfer regulations
• Outstanding negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities
• Data-driven approach to identifying opportunities and measuring business development success
