Enterprise Sales Executive — Financial Services

Lagos Full-time Undisclosed
Job Description
About Our Client
Our client is a multi-venture technology company building and deploying AI-powered products across financial services, enterprise software, and embedded intelligence. Their product portfolio includes AI voice systems, AI-powered recruiting and assessment platforms, agentic AI solutions, embedded fintech and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) infrastructure, core banking integrations, and custom AI application development. They are deeply embedded in the African financial services ecosystem and are scaling their enterprise presence across the continent.

The Role
This is not a typical enterprise sales role. You will be selling AI and fintech products to banks, insurance companies, microfinance institutions, fintechs, and payment companies across Nigeria and West Africa. Your buyers are CTOs, CIOs, Heads of Digital, and CEOs who are under immense pressure to modernize — but who have been burned by vendors who over-promised and under-delivered.
You win by knowing their world. You understand what it means to integrate with a core banking system. You know why a payment switch migration is terrifying. You can explain how AI voice will reduce call center costs by 40% without making the compliance team nervous. You speak their language because you have lived in their ecosystem.
This role requires someone who can operate at the intersection of deep technical fluency, financial services domain expertise, and high-stakes enterprise deal-making. You are part consultant, part closer, part trusted advisor.

What You Will Do
Own the enterprise sales pipeline for financial services and fintech across Nigeria and West Africa.
Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with banks (commercial, microfinance, digital), insurance companies, pension fund administrators, fintechs, payment processors, and mobile money operators.
Develop account strategies for named enterprise accounts. You know the org chart, the decision-makers, the budget holders, and the internal politics.
Run deeply consultative sales cycles — understanding each institution's technology stack, regulatory obligations, pain points, and strategic priorities before proposing solutions.
Sell across the full product portfolio with emphasis on:
AI voice for call center automation and customer engagement
Embedded fintech and BaaS infrastructure for fintechs and non-bank financial institutions
AI-powered assessment and recruiting tools for large-employer HR modernization
Agentic AI for back-office workflow automation (KYC, AML, claims processing, reconciliation)
Custom AI application development for bespoke enterprise needs
Present and defend proposals to C-suite audiences. Build and deliver business cases that include ROI projections, implementation timelines, and risk mitigation plans.
Navigate complex procurement cycles — RFPs, vendor assessments, compliance reviews, board approvals.
Coordinate with product and engineering teams on solution scoping, proof-of-concept development, and pilot programs.
Build and maintain relationships with industry bodies, regulators (CBN, NAICOM, SEC), and ecosystem partners (payment processors, technology partners, system integrators).
Represent the company at financial services conferences, fintech events, and industry roundtables across Nigeria and the region.
Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Who You Are
5–10 years of experience in enterprise sales, business development, or client management within Nigerian or West African financial services.
You have sold technology, software, or professional services to banks, insurance companies, fintechs, or other regulated financial institutions in Nigeria. You know how these organizations buy.
You understand the Nigerian financial services technology landscape — core banking systems (Finacle, Flexcube, T24), payment switches (Interswitch, NIBSS), BVN/NIN identity infrastructure, and the regulatory environment (CBN guidelines, NAICOM regulations, NDPR/data protection).
You can have an intelligent conversation about AI, machine learning, and automation as applied to financial services — not at an engineering level, but at a level that earns the respect of a bank CTO or a fintech founder.
You have managed complex, multi-month enterprise deal cycles with multiple stakeholders and have closed deals of ₦50M+ or equivalent.
You have strong existing relationships across the Nigerian banking, insurance, or fintech ecosystem. Your Rolodex is your superpower.
You are a strategic thinker who can develop account plans, not just react to opportunities. You see where the market is moving and position ahead of it.
You are based in Lagos or willing to relocate. Hybrid work with frequent in-person meetings with clients is non-negotiable for this role.
Willingness to travel across West Africa (Ghana, Kenya, South Africa) as the enterprise footprint expands.

Nice to Have
Previous experience at a Nigerian bank, insurance company, fintech (Paystack, Flutterwave, Moniepoint, Interswitch, or similar), or technology company selling into financial services.
Understanding of embedded finance, BaaS, and API-driven banking infrastructure.
Experience with AI products — voice AI, conversational AI, intelligent automation, or AI-powered analytics.
MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, or technology.
Relationships with regulators (CBN, NAICOM) or industry bodies (CIBN, CIS, FintechNGR).

Compensation
Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission.
Specific OTE will be discussed during the interview process.
Equity participation may be available for exceptional performers.
Benefits include health insurance and professional development support
