• This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role located in Port Harcourt.
• The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records, managing budgets, overseeing payrolls, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and internal accounting policies.
• Additional duties include reporting financial performance to key stakeholders, reconciling accounts, and assisting in financial audits to support the company's financial integrity and growth initiatives.
• Applicant should be prompt, analytical, honest, detail-oriented, and professional to succeed in this role.
Job Responsibilities
• Handling all accounts payable and receivable.
• Preparation of financial reports, and financial statements for the organization as well as its clients.
• Ensure tax compliance and timely submission of statutory filings (e.g., VAT, PAYE, corporate tax).
• Recording transactions, payments, and expenses, and processing invoices.
• Communicating effectively with cash and billing staff across branches to ensure timely remittance of cash.
• Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., CBN, SEC, IFRS, FIRS).
• Display proficiency in working with relevant accounting software
• Handling queries related to accounts and preparing error-free accounting reports.
• Any other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and managing accounts
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience in finance, (Real Estate Sector experience is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong skills in financial analysis, compliance, and tax preparation
• Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and critical thinking skills
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
