Job Description
Maroriem Consults is a Nigeria-based accounting and consulting firm providing bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll, and financial advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating within Nigeria. We support our clients with accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong internal financial governance as a professional services firm.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Human Resources (HR) Officer

Job Location: Lagos (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview
• To support the design, implementation, and delivery of HR services for both Maroriem internal operations and client organizations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
• Support end-to-end recruitment for internal roles and client organizations
• Draft job descriptions and job advertisements
• Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate communication
• Maintain talent pipelines and recruitment databases

HR Operations & Administration:
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases (internal and client accounts)
• Prepare employment contracts, onboarding, and exit documentation
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
• Ensure proper documentation and filing (physical and digital)

Client HR Support (Consulting Function):
• Provide HR advisory support to client organizations
• Assist in developing HR policies, employee handbooks, and frameworks
• Support client recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary processes
• Ensure client compliance with applicable labor laws and HR best practices

Payroll & Benefits Administration:
• Support payroll processing for clients and internal staff
• Validate payroll inputs (attendance, leave, deductions, etc.)
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll reports
• Administer employee benefits (e.g., HMO, pensions)

Performance Management:
• Support the implementation of performance management systems
• Track employee KPIs and appraisal cycles
• Assist in developing and monitoring Employee Performance Improvement Plans (EPIPs)

Learning & Development:
• Identify training needs (internal and client organizations)
• Coordinate training sessions and track participation
• Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness

Employee Relations & Compliance:
• Handle employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues
• Support disciplinary processes and investigations
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
• Promote a positive work culture and employee engagement

HR Reporting & Analytics:
• Prepare HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, recruitment metrics)
• Maintain HR dashboards for internal and client reporting
• Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making

Qualification & Requirements
Educational Qualification and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field with 1–2 years of relevant HR experience

Knowledge & Skills:
• Basic knowledge of HR practices and labor laws
• Understanding of payroll processes and basic accounting principles
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
